Surat is set to ban PUBG, the latest addictive game. The main reason for imposing ban was increasing violent behavior among children and youth. There have been few incidents recently such as one fitness trainer from Jammu injured himself after he lost a game in PUBG and one boy drank Acid instead of Water while playing the game.
According to the Surat administration, students were found performing poorly in studies because of their addiction to the game.
Jagruti Pandya, Chairperson of Gujarat Child rights body was quoted by PTI stating this, “The NCPCR had sent a letter to all the states and recommended a ban on the game. All the states are required to implement it. Looking at the negative effects of the game, we had recently sent a letter to the state government recommending a ban on the game.”
