Twitter is making quite a few changes recently to combat Fake News, Spam, Inappropriate behaviour, etc. Now the company has made a change that limits how many accounts a user can follow in a day.

Twitter has announced that it has reduced the number of accounts that a user can follow from 1000 to 400 per day. Now, Non-verified users can follow up to 400 accounts in a day and Verified users can follow up to 1000 accounts in a day.

Apart from this, Twitter also restricted the number of accounts a user can follow to 5000 overall. The number is different for each account and is calculated based on the unique ratio of followers to following.
