WhatsApp has introduced a new feature to tackle fake news in India ahead of General Elections. The feature called ‘Checkpoint Tipline’ can be added to your WhatsApp with +91-9643000888. Once the number has been added, you can find Checkpoint Tipline within chats where users can submit information in form of Text, Image, Video or Audio format.

WhatsApp has collaborated with PROTO, an Indian Startup where PROTO’s verification facility would respond and inform the respective user whether the shared information is verified or not.
